This notice explains, in plain English, what personal information Fluxwren collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. Fluxwren is a trading name of Sam Etherington, a sole trader based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. I am the "controller" of your information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What I collect

When you use the contact form, email or call me, I collect what you choose to give me: your name, business name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you are interested in and your message.

I do not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools on this website.

Why I use it, and the legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me.
  • To provide services if you become a client. The legal basis is performing our contract.
  • To keep business and tax records. The legal basis is complying with legal obligations.

I will never sell your information or add you to a marketing list without your consent.

Who I share it with

The contact form is processed by Formspree, which delivers your message to my email. My email is provided by Google Workspace and this website is hosted by a static hosting provider. These suppliers process data on my behalf under their own data protection terms, and some may store data outside the UK using approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. I only share information otherwise if the law requires it.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: deleted within 12 months.
  • Client records: kept for 6 years after our work ends, as required for tax purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to data portability. Just email me; I will reply within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

I may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
